Digital Consulting

For about 8 months I’ve teamed up with SUJO as their “journalism guy,” or, as they refer to me, I’m the “journalism and community manager.” Neither title describes precisely what I do for them.

SUJO3SUJO is a social media app that features a “customizable balance of facts, opinion, and conversation.”

When I joined up, the app was nothing but a powerpoint presentation from their CEO Daniel Rendon.

My role was specific: to advise Mr. Rendon and the programmers on the ethics of journalism and the user experience.

When the app went into alpha testing, I became one of its earliest users.

I tested the app by writing news stories with a focus on politics.

As the app has grown, I’ve also helped build and manage the community of other post curators, always with a focus on journalism. Other than journalism, posts on the app are designated two other categories: influencers (opinioned content) and users (anything they feel like posting).

SUJO2Now that the app is public for iPhone and Android phone users, I continue my role as a journalist posting political news stories from publications across the internet.

Not only do I continue to advise them as the app grows, but I am in direct contact with their users through blog posts and newsletters, which often includes deep dives into the app’s analytics.

In short, it’s pretty rad to attempt to seek answers for the world wide web’s many conundrums.

Check out my work on the SUJO App. My username is “Mason.” I’ve added a few more examples of my work with SUJO below…
